E.D. Etnyre & Co. announced as Presenting Sponsor

May 20th, 2019

The Oregon Park District is pleased to announce E.D. Etnyre & Co. as the Oregon Park District Presenting Sponsor.

The District completed their comprehensive plan in 2017 and throughout this process the community identified their interest in additional free programming in a less structured environment. The recreation department introduced several new and free program opportunities in 2018 with much success. As a result, the District was looking to expand, but was unable to continue to fund the opportunities without assistance as a result of a reduction in the nuclear plant property tax assessment and the significant impact a minimum wage hike will have on the Districts overall budgets.

“The Oregon Park District is always looking for ways to provide opportunities for the community. In summer of 2018 we began offering several free programs in our parks. After the success of these programs we began looking for a local business that would partner to expand upon these offerings to the community,” said Erin Folk, Executive Director.

Folk added, “E.D. Etnyre & Co. is a family business rooted in the Oregon community. Their philosophies and commitment to the community made them a perfect fit as our Presenting Sponsor. The sponsorship funds will allow us to expand our Pop Up and Play in the Park, Art in the Park and add several new after school programs that will be free to our patrons. The funds will also be utilized for our Halloween Carnival and Easter Egg Hunts and allow us to expand and offer more inclusion-based activities.”

E.D. Etnyre & Co. has been a community staple for over 120 years. Established in 1898, Etnyre continues to lead the industry with its legendary commitment to the market. Their products combine more than 100 years of experience with the latest technological advancements providing customers with top performance and reliability.

Vice President of Human Resources Craig Shurson said “Etnyre is proud to be able to support the Park District as the Presenting Sponsor, as community is a core component of our vision and value statements.”
